fast help needed!!

Postby beneq on Sun Jan 26, 2003 12:17 pm

Yesterday I bought new cd burner cendyne lightning IV 48x12x48. But when i open the box i saw BENQ 4816P CD-RW (http://www.digitallyunique.net/digitall ... 4816p.html). When i try to burn some CD it takes me from 5 to 7 min to record one disc at 32x.
1. why the disc burn so slow (cds record speed were 32 )
(my pc: duron 750, 128mb memory )
2. Schould i return it and change it to real cendyne Lightning IV??
big THX for all your help

Probably a DMA issue:

Another possibility is you were using low-speed, poorer quality media.

First, the Benq is already as "real" a Cendyne as any other, since Cendyne simply rebadges drives manufactured by others. You just happened to get a Benq in your box rather than a LiteOn. But what you really want to know is should you exchange it for a LiteOn. To that I personally say yes, since I have had bad experiences with Benq quality and don't like the brand anymore. Unfortunately for you, exchanging your Cendyne for another at the store where you bought it is not likely to get you a LiteOn. It is more likely that all the Cendyne units in that store came from the same batch, and thus would all be Benqs.

InCD doesnt see rewritable disc (even if i put one that was in the orginal box)! Could it be the matter of low speed burning bad firmwire?
