It looks like that is a variation on the deal Reg-da-Ripper told us about:

http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic. ... buslink%2A

If hojman and I read it correctly, it looks like they have knocked the price down to $19.99 after $30 MIR. That certainly is a very hot deal if it is a LiteOn. The copy says "SMART-BURN" which is a LiteOn trademark, and BusLink has been known to ship LiteOn drives, so there is a chance you will get a LiteOn. However, lately BusLink has also been shipping AOpen drives, so understand that there is a chance you will get an AOpen instead of a LiteOn. However, an AOpen for $19.99 is quite a hot deal in and of itself.

This is a great deal, thanks!

The only thing is the rebate must be postmarked within 10 days of purchase

This means I have to pay for overnight shipping $11.99 to ensure I get it in time so that the rebate can be used.

Normal shipping is $5.99, and the product states normally ships in 1-3 business days. 2 day shipping is $8.99.

Too bad there's no Microcenter store near my house!

Yep,Of course, picture shows Smart-Burn but in stores I've seen only Justlink Justspeed instead lately, even though the picture in their website remains Smart-Burn,maybe they need to update website more often,it's enermously misrepresented  no matter how fast they are, they all're exactly AOpen

You don't need to worry about having a MicroCenter near where you live as this three-day special is an online special only. Act fast if you want this burner and the deal. :)

Even if one doesn't take advantage of the mail-in rebate, the $49.99 price [= $79.99 regular price - $30 (three-day) instant rebate from MicroCenter] is nothing to thumb your nose at. :)

By the way, all the BUSLink RW5252 burners at my local MicroCenter are Lite-On LTR-52246S. :) YMMV.
My solution to the Plextor vs. Lite-On debate: Buy 'em both! :)

I ordered one online today with in-store pick up and will pick it up tomorrow. LiteOn or AOpen, $23.59 after tax is a pretty good deal.

hojman, thank you very much for the post. I just picked up the drive in the Denver store and it is a LiteOn LTR-52246S. I checked the drives they had on the shelves and all of the BUSlink 52x24x52 drives were LiteOns. All of the BUSlink 48x12x48 drives were marked JustLink and Justspeed.

Alright, my Buslink arrived today (I ordered early 2/4/03), and whoila, it's a LTR-52246S!!!

I called MicroCenter customer service yesterday, and they said they had plenty of these in stock. Too bad the rebate is only one per name/family/address. I'd get more!

BTW, how do you know the deal is only 3 days?? I can't find anywhere it says that on the webpage...

I got my buslink today and its a Aopen Justlink drive. I called em up and they were baffled. Called me back an hr later and told me their entire stock is all Justlink drives.

Not that it matters much anymore, but a co-worker and I both ordered this
drive with in-store pick up (Minnesota) and we both received the Lite-on
drive. Very, very nice.

Thanks for posting the hot deal!

This is my first post. I joined just to thank you.

Make sure the box says Smart-burn since some staples are carrying both Aopen/Justlink and Lite-on/Smartburn in same RW5252 box

Well, I did look at the local Staples today (Saturday) and they had a boatload of these 52X CDRW...they were ALL Justlink. Damn...seems like LiteOn are harder and harder to find unless u get OEM...

I just returned from Staples. There were a stack of the Buslink 52x drives with both Smart Burn and Just Link... I picked up the Smart Burn. I really don't have any idea what the difference is, but from what I've been reading on this board, apparently Lite-On is better? Anyway, I stumbled on this board about 2 weeks ago, just like to thank everyone who finds these deals, I probably never would have noticed this $20 deal otherwise
