New firmware 1.01 for Plextor PX-W4012TS

Fixed Bugs:
Hang-up after eject of discs written by InCD under Windows 2000/XP
Eject problems during self diagnostic
Added:
VariRec at 1x writing
Correct identification of >79 minutes media
Writing up to 99 minutes

Kickass! Hopefully they can add support for 99 minute media to their 48x writer too.

and the 40x IDE model too, that's my burner.

but is this at all possible? can this capability be added by a firmware update?
i thought support for 99 minutes was at the hardware level?
