How good is Buslink 52x24x52x CDRW?

Postby dforion on Fri Feb 14, 2003 2:12 pm

I'm looking at getting a Buslink 52x24x52x this weekend. I think its made by LITE-ON but not sure. http://www.buslink.com/ver2/CDRW52x.htm

Anyone know how good its reliablity and performance is for making audio CDs? I could not find any reviews on it.

:) Thanks!

If the drive in the box is a Lite On, there will be a "Smart Burn" sticker on the box.

I've got the Lite On (retail version) and it's a great drive. It's wonderful at audio extraction & creation. It even does 99 minute audio cd's. Just check out my webpage. I did it originally with an LG and did it again with the Lite On.

There's been some discussion in the Hot Deals forum about Buslink changing OEM drives recently. Check the box carefully.

Windows & Nero will detect the drive as an LTR-52246S if you do indeed get a Lite On. This means you can use the official Lite On firmware upgrades on it.
