OM was out of the Verbatim drives and was selling the Cendyne 48x12x48 instead. The one I picked up was a Samsung 48x24x48 drive model sw-248F. On Samsung's site, this drive is supposed to have a 8mb buffer. Nero InfoTool shows a 2mb buffer and only a 32x :o write speed?!?!? Not sure what the scoop is here.

Norminal Capacity = 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f)
Disc Manufacturer maybe = ASKA,LeadData
SMART-BURN Speed Limit = 32X

$80 in rebates!!!! :o :o :o

Wow, talk about rebates gone bad!!!

Um, I guess I'm guilty of that myself, never mind

Can someone please kill the rebate demon!!

On another topic, the Pacific Digital CDRW I got a while back for $20 & no rebate! (as a sub for another CDRW w/ rebates) was a Lite-On. The CDRW Gods were smiling on me that day!
