Sony firmware upg to LTR question.

Sony firmware upg to LTR question.

Postby kevincott on Sun Mar 02, 2003 4:59 pm

I have a Sony 48x24x48 flashed to 52x24x52 as per:

http://kickme.to/sony210 .

kickme changed the LiteOn (upgraded) firmware to read Sony (like our original drive). I want mine to read LiteOn so I can directly load new versions from LiteOn without having to change the code or find revisions.

Doing a direct LiteOn conversion does not work because the firmware looks for a 'LiteOn' drive and mine reads 'Sony'.

Any suggestions?

Another alternative, MtkWinFlash:

Whether you use FlashFix or MtkWinFlash, be sure to select the correct IDE device when doing the actual flash. Otherwise you may end up flashing, and damaging, the wrong drive.

Thanks.

This is one of the most courteous communities on the web. Flashfix cured my problem and I have already run tests to confirm.

If only customer service for ANY company were as swift.

Thanks again!

You're welcome. And thanks to digi for making all the great MTK utilities available.
