Samsung firmware

Postby jimbo on Fri Mar 07, 2003 5:37 pm

Does anybody know if there is a firmware update for the Samsung
SW-248F that supports Mt Rainier. I had read where the T506 firmware for the Samsung SM-348 added Mt Rainier and fixed some writing speed issues.
Thinking of picking up this drive at Walmart for $59.00. Seems like a good deal.
Only wish I could find a Black retail (8mb) version in the US. oh well, guess I will just have to deal with a dark grey case, black floppy, black DVD, and a beige CDRW. :)

I definitely recommend the drive. It's worked great for me! I'm going to try the new firmware today.
I think newegg.com carries the black version of this drive for a few more $, but the beige version has to be one of the best looking beige drives i've seen. That's not saying much though. lol
