Anyone using SKC Co blank discs?

Postby Day on Thu Mar 13, 2003 6:29 pm

Has anyone used these? What is the quality? I want to know more about these discs.

I recently bought a spindle of 100 CDs for £15 and found them excellent. They are the cheapest discs I have seen in a shop. They are released under the name 'Infiniti' and on the box it says write speed x48. I tested them on x40 on my USB2 LiteOn and seem to be doing very well.

They look very strange as there are lots of concentric circles on the writing surface.

SKC (Sung Kyong Corporation I think it stands for, spelling probably incorrect!) make fine media. At one point in the early 90s they were one of the world's largest companies, based in Korea, and made 32% of the blank video and audio tapes around the world (providing most of Memorex, Philips and so on's product). I believe they've contracted since then but they are still a high quality company.

Where did you get the media from? I've been wanting to test the newer higher speed media for a while -- I only have the 24x blue media here.

I get these CDs from a computer fare in London - very small with like 30 stalls in an old church.

I'm glad to hear that they are good quality and they are the cheapest CDs I have ver seen - just £15

And they look good quality as well - no streaks or faults in the plastic surface

I'm doubt about SKC products . I have used CDRW 12x disc in the past without reliability in burn .Also many CDrs have Atip as Prodisc .So i think SKC become reseller....
