Verbatim Make the best Quality CDRS

Postby jeffbourner on Fri Mar 21, 2003 10:46 pm

Verbatim make the best quality CD-R's in the 48x pack of ten. Super Azo. Data life plus. Crystal Layer. Way better than KODAK. Last for ever. Fast writing speeds. Most compatability.

Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim DataLife Plus are the best of the best in CD-R media.

most people around here believe Verbatim is not quite as good as Taiyo Yuden, because burn quality of TY is (usually) better - lower C1 error rate (not a very big difference though).

Kodak has better long-term life, at least according to accelerated aging tests. at least according to Kodak. has to do with using real Gold in the reflective layer.

Mitsui media is also excellent. according to some - the best. supposedly it is the best media for long term storage.

that being said, Verbatim media made by Mitsubishi Chemichals is definitely very good media. among the very best there is.

I'd agree with that.

I'm also a fan of Fuji 48x made by TY.

I agree with the preceding posts. That has been my experience with Verbatim DataLifePlus 700MB 1X-48X with nearly 100 burns. And with Fuji 48X. And, I might add, Memorex 700MB 52X all using LT52246S. Also purchased Verbatim's printable 48X CD-Rs to use with my Epson Stylus Photo 960 which can print on CDs/DVDs but await Epson's software for that purpose. If anyone is interested be happy to post results of that effort. Greatly enjoy posting with everyone. :D

I'm with dodecahedron. A big advantage of the Verbatim's made by Mitsubishi (DataLifePlus / SuperAzo) is that you know what you're getting: other name brands, e.g. Fuji, TDK, whatever use various suppliers. TY is hard to find here and you may end up wit CMC .

Yes Verbatim sells too cd-r manufactured by other manufacturers ( and Verbatim quality does not apply to these cd ) .
Also i think everyone knows Verbatim is a Mitsubishi Chemicals Subsidiary .

What about Mitsui media in your list ? I know it is very hard to find them but you can find them more easily than Kodak media for example . I have not ever seen Kodak media .
