When will LG GCE-8520B 1.04 Firmware be on U.S Site ?

I am new to firmware updates I was hoping to have full instructions and
access to Ver 1.0 & 1.04 Firmware in case I have problems with the update.
How long does it usually take for the U.S site to reflect the update ?

The drive works fine but is picky about media types & speeds.Is that resolved in ver 1.04
