Please let us know what improvements you find with the new firmware (and also anything that works worse).

6S0D + Verbatim 24x CD-RW discs:

http://www3.sympatico.ca/brad.ormsby/6S ... xCDRW.html

It's CAV writing...

BTW: my LTR-52246S is no longer supported under Direct CD, even though I have the latest version 5.3.2.

It's back to 6S0C for the next little while.

Wow! Fancy test report. Using the "Save Results->HTML" option, huh? Nice. :)

Not nice is that rewriting remains CAV. I just don't understand why. Oh well, it looks like we never will get P-CAV rewriting. Too bad... :(

It's easier than screen shots etc.

I figured out the Direct CD issue.

I'm using the Direct CD version that came with the free download of WinOn CD PE.

But when I flashed to 6S0D, my dirve was no longer supported !??!

But I went to the Roxio website, and they had a patch for EZ CD 5 Plat. version for more recorder support. So I tried it, it worked!

The file is called: DriveUp5.3.4b.exe

well its not as good as my yamaha 20x burner, but its even better now with my 6s0d vs. 6s0c

the yamaha is just nice cause of the 8mb buffer, that and it sits on a machine that is constantly defragged, so system is 100% solid as a rock

the reason i still use my yammie is cause i burn just cd images with it, using clonecd, for my customers i like giving them 100% perfect discs

You think they know we want P-cav and just teasing us?
Anyway, did you get better results with media that once burnt badly?

Oh, and another thing i wanted to ask, is writing at 52X almost as loud as 48X and or 40X with the Liteon?
And is it louder in comparison to other 48X/40X drive when writing 48X/40X?

Thanks.

back to the nature at hand, i don't know what the big fuss is about, with the whole thing about how loud the drive is, do you people run so quiet of machines that you can hear a mouse fart if it were inside your case?

ive got 2 120MM fans inside my case, one on my heatsink, and one on my case window

and its still quieter than a Tornado 80MM fan which runs at 55dBA if i remember correctly

Come on hoxlund. Now change the signature. You know as well as I do that you don't have that P4 2.53 or that RAM.
