Looking for Maxtor Deals

Postby CDRecorder on Fri Apr 04, 2003 1:30 pm

Are there any good deals on Maxtor hard drives (i.e. about $60 or less)? Even smaller drives (20-40 gigs) would be OK. I know Best Buy has a great deal on a WD 40GB, but I am not sure I am ready to trust WD again, as my last two WDs have failed very quickly. Thanks!

Check out Googlegear.com. Just bought a Maxtor 120 Gb 8Mb cache for $129 including free shipping (UPS 2nd Day Air). Good luck :)

Staples has the 80Gb Maxtor (8Mb Cache) at 79.98 AR, starting Sunday 4/6.
Item#: 499949

In-Store Purchase:
$119.98 - $10.00 Instant Rebate - $30.00 MIR = $79.98

If the MIR will work for online purchases, you could save another $10.00 or $20.00 with a coupon code.
The final price would depend on whether they'll offer the instant rebate online.

$119.98 - $20.00 off $100.00 Coupon Code: 37126 - $30.00 MIR = $69.98
$59.98 if the IR comes up online on Sunday :)

eBay, seriously. Retailers offer smaller capacity drives at ridiculously high prices. Do it eBay and save money.

Thanks, I had a WD finally become essentially unusable yesterday (only 1.5 yrs old), and the WD that it replaced failed after less than two weeks. In contrast, I have had no problems with the 60GB Maxtor I got about 6 months ago.

Thank you for all of your replies, everyone!
