Low jitter CD burners

Which CD burners (preferably external, but internal too) have especially low jitter without using anything like Yamaha's AMQ?

Plextor's VariRec is designed to allow you to fine tune laser power for reduced jitter. How effective it is, well, that's debatable to me. You have to override a setting to tune it differently. Unfortunately, when you override it you are moving the setting from what the drive has measured to be best. And you have no feedback as to whether you made things better or worse other than you your own ears after you finish the burn. But I guess that's all that counts anyway...

Actually check out:

It says that the VariRec actually makes the jitter worse.

Not surprising. Hence my original comment:
