HELP GUYS!!! I'VE PROBLEMS WITH MY SONY CRX220E1!!

Postby elpiojolopez on Thu Apr 17, 2003 4:05 pm

since you're talking about sony crx220e1.. i wanna ask you guys something.
i bought one of these cd burners a couple of days ago, it's an oem model, of course, and my problem is that i can't burn cds at speeds over 40x, easy cd 6 just won't let me. When i run a test with this program i get that my firmware version is 6ys1.. why is that? shouldn't it be 6s02?? i'm confused... is there any way to update my firmware to make my burner to record at 52x??? if i have a chance please tell me where i can download the right firmware and a software to apply it.

thanks a lot guys, please help me.. i'm feeling kinda frustated with this shit.

6ys1 is the only official firmware available for the drive. The 6s02 firmware floating around out there is a modified Lite-On firmware. More info here:

As far as the writing speeds go, try other media.

Why should the firmware version be 6S02? 6S02 is a Lite-ON LTR-52246S firmware.

The reason that you cannot burn faster than 40x is because of TurboBoost. Hold the eject button for 5 seconds, then you will be able to burn at 52x

I would recommend using the modified 6S0D firmware from http://kickme.to/sony210

elpiojolopez, why did you PM me the same exact question here, when two VERY knowledgeable people have already answered your question?
