what can i say? unprofessional review IMO.

  • got the model name wrong.
  • when discussing Mt. Rainier, posted a picture of a CDRW formatted by InCD in UDF, not MRW!

and more...

I don't know about the Samsung 52x24x52, but the Samsung 48x24x48 i just bought to replace the POS Lite-on 48246S is a beauty. It's faster and more quiet than the Lite-on.

there is a newer firmware R702.

i dunno.
it's mentioned in Gideon Tech's review, doesn't say it's unofficial.

as we speak i'm trying to search the web for it, can't find much :o

maybe it's only in Korean Samsung sites, not English, that's what i'm trying now...

navigating Samsung's Korean site not knowing Korean is a little trickey but here's what i got for you:
R702 firmware binary:
http://www.samsungodd.com/korLib/popup/ ... 1_R702.bin
flashing program (?):
http://www.samsungodd.com/korLib/popup/ ... fdnwin.exe

so it's in Samsung's (Korean) site...it must be official :D
