The US Plextor website now has explanations of the new Plextools Pro
at this location. This is how to test media and drive quality using Plextools Pro.

that's surprising.
PlexTools has always shipped with the European Plextors (Japan too?) but not in America. in North America they came with Plextor Manager 2000.

what's changed?

Since Plextor Manager 2000 doesn't support WinXP, Plextor America was without a software utility package for the latest operating system. They had to do something to replace Plextor Manager, and probably the easiest and most logical thing to do was to work a deal with Plextor Europe concerning the use of PlexTools.

They should have done this a long time ago.

I'd rather they exchanged Easy CD Creator with Alcohol 120% :D it may not be an authoring program, but combine it with WinISO and it blows the pants off of Nero! (at least for data burning)
