Well i had some cdrw rated at 16-24x ultra speed and my friend had burnt some mp3s on one. When i got home I tried to do a quick erase, so i could reuse it. Well it just stood there and the burner seemed to have frozen, so i aborted the process and closed the pc. Today, I am trying to burn cds, but when i put them into the burner it wont read them, it just says insert disc or no disc inserted. It doesnt matter what type of disc it is. I tried updating the firmware, but it still doesnt work. Any suggestions or is my burner dead?
Edit: It can read CD-RW's but it says they are write protected when i try to burn something to them.
