What is the correct way to start with a CD-RW?

Postby Al Kolka on Mon May 12, 2003 6:54 pm

My wife and I burn lots of CDRs. No problems.

We want to start using some CD-RWs like floppy disks. That is, drag files from explorer to the drive letter corresponding to our CD-RW drive, and be able to read the CD-RW on other burners.

We have a Plextor 40/12/40A burner, a Toshiba XM6702B 48X CDROM, Roxio's Easy CD Creator Platinum Ver. 5.3.5.10, Win 98SE.

I am confused regarding full and quick formatting and UDF.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What you are looking to do is called packet writing. In order to do that with Roxio's software, you have to install their DirectCD program.
