ATI Radeon 9500 Pro vs ATI Radeon 9700 Pro

Postby TidusTheCoolest on Mon May 19, 2003 1:48 am

Which one are worth buying ?
Ati Radeon 9500 Pro (128MB) or
Ati Radeon 9700 Pro (128MB) ?

9700's price is double from 9500 .
But I was told that 9500 is only about 10% slower than 9700 .

And GeForce FX 5900 Ultra cost 4x of ATI Radeon 9500 Pro
But it's performance is almost the same as ATI Radeon
9800 Pro .

how about none of the above?

I'd wait until after Doom III is released, then we'll see which card is "The Doom ]I[ card".

I'd go for an R9600Pro 8) .13mic core = less heat !! (under $200)

... even the R9800Pro has a .15mic core
Wake up ATI :-)

Is the performance gap between 9600Pro and 9800Pro big enough to make me regret buyin' it ? :-?

Not for 1/2 price, I really like the .13m core thing - it's the future ('till .07 comes out) 8)
