Artec 52x32x52 writing speed problems

Postby DaedalusEH on Tue May 20, 2003 8:40 pm

Hi
I have an Artec 52x32x52x and when i am trying to write on to a 16x certified rewritable disk (from CyberDrive) the drive writes it at 12x, and also my cd burning software (Nero) sometimes reports that the drive can write up to 48x and rewrite up to 12x. The Nero InfoTool which gives general information is telling me the same. Does anyone knows what causes the problem...? Thanks

When I am disabling the JustSpeed then i can write at 52x but the same does not apply for the rewriting speed... it reamins at 12x max.... And this is what the InfoTool reports as Max.

Hmm.. the drive might not support 16x rewriting speeds.

DaedalusEH:

I would try 24x CD-RW media.

Your Artec WRR-52Z should be supported by the latest version of Nero (since it appears in InCD's database, and it's bundled with Nero, at least in Europe). Thus, unless you already have it, you should upgrade to version 5.5.10.28 from Ahead's site (www.ahead.de).

You may try to find more detailed specifications for your drive at www.ultima.com.tw (the site was so slow that I resigned after a couple of minutes).

Thanks... I think that i will go and get a 24x cdrw media and try it... and then post if i still have the same problem.
I have the latest NERO installed ( 5.5.10.28 ) .
Yeap it might be that, the problem, as there are some writers that do not support some speeds between the min and max, not even the box does say about which in between speeds are supported, so the only way is trial and error.

Don't get Memorex 24x CD-RW media; it has a reputation for being very low quality. Verbatim 24x CD-RWs have a good reputation.
