cd-r labs' best buy cd-writer?

hi there,

i wonder what's the recommended cd-writer now, i just transferred by LTR-48125W to my sister's pc since she need to help me burning. and currently i'm using DRU-500AX, but i need another writer for 48x burning for my pc.

any recommendations?

I love my Plextor Premium which is a 52x32x52.

Unless you need all the extras, the LiteOn 52246S will provide amazing quality burns and reading, not to mention speed, at a rediculous price. currently $50 shipped at www.NewEgg.com The new generation of drives with 32x RW speeds will give you better quality RW burning at any speed, so if you do a lot of RW burning you might want to consider one of those. The LiteOn 52327S is just starting to ship in some areas.

there's no indication on liteon's site whether it uses CAV or CLV, especially the new ones, how do i know?

CAV at max speed. Virtually all new high-speed drives use CAV at their rated speeds, then switch to P-CAV and eventually down to CLV at lower speeds. Read the "Features" sections of Ian's reviews.
