166s DVD Ripping

How fast do y'all rip your DVDs with the 166s?

Mine has come out around 8.1x when ripping StarWars Episode II...

Further, it sounds almost like the "CD Burning" sound when it's ripping...makes almost a weird "buzzing" sound...strange, for I've never heard this coming out of my drive before.

I'm using DVD Decrypter, and ripping into ISO Format.

Any input? :-?

Dual layer DVDs will always be slow when ripped. Use single layer pressed DVD to test max speed. Consider most DVD-ROM can't even go above 2x (that's before somebody hacked toshiba's f/w), 8x is awesome for dual layer.

That's normal for Lite-Ons, they're loud...
