Are you upgrading or buying new retail Nero 6?

Seems like some owners of Nero 5.5 are opting to pay for the retail boxed version of Nero 6. Makes me curious as to why they would want to do that...

I'll be waiting to pay the downloadable upgrade price on July 18th...

They would get the new retail box so that they can get it before the 18th.

I'll be upgrading one of my many bundled OEM versions to the 6 upgrade as long as that will make my version a full-fledged one and not just a single drive version. I figure that will be a deal considering that a full-fledged version of 6 will be twice the upgrade price.

I dumped Nero and I'll never buy any of their products in the future, the bundled disks that came with my drives went in the trash.Nero burns CD's fine but I was fed up with it's inabilty to burn a usable DVD not to mention the incompatibility with other burn software.Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD and NTI CD Maker 5.5 is all I need.

Interesting. I haven't had any issues with DVDs. Course I believe 6 has a new engine as well which should address a lot of your issues. Then again, once you find something you like, might as well go with it.

Poll needs 1 more choice.

"Are you getting the free upgrade to Nero 6 because you purchased Nero after 30 April 2003?"
