I left my mind reading hat at home this morning so you're going to need to provide some more info.

1. What version of windows?

2. What version of Nero are you using?

3. What was your old drive?

im having the same prob but a little different. im running nero 5.5.9.14 on winxp pro sp1 and well it wont even recognize my drives... when i chose a recorder the only option i have is virtual driver..

y wont it recognize my tdk a440n dvd+/- burner?.. i mean windows recognizes it in system properties and during the boot up in bios... another wierd thing is that i cant seem to find the proper drivers for my pioneer 117 dvd-rom.. any one have drivers for it that work in winxp pro?.. any help would be appreciated.. tks

Was your Nero an OEM version (bundled with drive)? If it was, then that version is tied to the drive it was bundled with. That being said, while I think that you may still need to have that bundled drive somewhere on your system, my bundled versions have worked with my two DVD burners that I own, so I think that you may just have to upgrade your version of Nero.

The Sony CD-RW CRX220A1 has been supported by Nero since the release of Nero 5.5.9.8. So as long as you have this version of Nero or later it will support the drive.

And of course your Nero software must either be Retail or came with the Sony Recorder.
