Verbatim 52x at Best Buy

Burn baby burn!

Verbatim 52x at Best Buy

Postby Intimidator on Sun Jul 20, 2003 12:43 pm

I was just at Best Buy today and was looking at the Verbatim 52/24/52 burner. I looked at the side of the box and saw the different serial numbers.

There are the following:

8 digit alphanumeric number = Asus

22 digit alphanumeric number = AOpen

I may have these backwards but the bottom line is there are NO Lite-On drives there.

If you want to be sure what drive you are getting OPEN the box and look very carefully at the label on the drive.

It will say in very very small print Asus ot AOpen.

What happen to the Lite-On's??

*laughs*

okay so i just started to follow these threads by Intimidator.

personally I don't see what the big issue about getting a Lite-On drive is. I know who they are I am aware they make good burner. But hey if I want a Lite-On I'd just go buy a Lite-On Drive. not search the world for a 2nd party seller (eg. Cendyne). Or I at least go w/ Sony cause I am sure they always use Lite-On.

If you need a burner buy a burner. Don't get caught up in the poltics of it all
