Problem reading a Fuji CD-R

Postby Hibiki04 on Sat Jul 26, 2003 12:43 am

I'm currently having trouble reading blank CD-R Fuji-Film 48X CD-Rs (the spindle without the turning nob on top of the spindle) on my Lite-On LTR 48125W (firmware S0B). This is the first time this has every happened. When I insert the blank CD-R into my Lite-On, its seems like the Lite-On drive doesn't even recognize that the cd has already been inserted.

Is there anyway I can resolve this so that I can start burning these blacnks cds

Can anyone help me please.
Thanks for your replies in advance

Does your LTR-48125W work with other blank CDs?

Firmware for the drive has been updated to VS0D and it still doesn't work.
And also, yup, it still works with other blanks CDs, Just tried a Memorx (TY), and that works fine.

Any other suggestions in solving this problem?

First make sure DMA is enabled.

Then try the Fuji CD-R on another burner.

I've never had problems with Fuji CD-R, but it's possible you got a bad batch of CD-R's due to problems in production, mishandling during packing, etc...

If the Fuji CD-Rs are readable by another burner, then you've got a strange media incompatibility problem, or your Lite-On burner is slowly dying (most likely).

I would guess that the Fuji CD-R is the problem because the drive works with other TY CD-Rs.
