In House Review - OptoRite CW5201 52/32/52 CD-RW

Postby Ian on Tue Aug 19, 2003 11:19 am

Today, we take a look at OptoRite's latest CD-RW drive, the CW5201. Featuring some of the fastest speeds currently available, the CW5201 reads and writes at 52x and is one of the first drives on the market to rewrite at 32x. Of course, OptoRite's new writer isn't just about speed. This budget priced drive also supports technologies like Sanyo's BURN-Proof, EXACT-Rec and AWSS.

In this review we take a look at some of the features found on the CW5201 and then put it up against some of the 52x writers from the competition. Is OptoRite's new writer the best bang for your buck? Youl'll have to read the review to find out.

Good review, Ian! :D

I'm a little disappointed that this drive doesn't support Mt. Rainier, though.

Me too. It's crazy that the drive supports 32x RW speeds and not the Mt. Rainier format. Go figure.

I fixed the link. aviationwiz let me know it was wrong on the main page too.

Hello!

Again a great review, Ian :)

I don´t need MR, but the writing-quality means much to me. Again a Top-drive for little money from Optorite.

I´m only disappointed that Optorite-drives can´t be found in Germany. I hope that MSI bring the new Optorite-drives to Germany.

I own a MSI CR52-A2 and that´s a fantastic drive :)
