Please check for updates available for Norton Ghost online. We do not support Norton Ghost and there is not a firmware update available for this model. Thank you, LGE

This drive is incompatable with Norton Ghost Version 2003. I have two other LG drives a 8520, and a 8240 cd-rw drives that work great with Norton Ghost Version 2003! It fails with closing cd/dvd session error 4. See attached file. Firmware is verion 1.02

Does any one have a solution to this problem and not a cop-out reply like the one I recieved back from LG electonics!!! :(

Well, LGE has a point, they don't offer tech support for Norton Ghost and they should not be expected to. :) Wait for a firmware update and see if that helps.

Advenger: Have you found a solution to the LG GCC-4480B and Norton Ghost 2003 problem? I have just bought the drive and are planning to use it with Ghost 2003. The drive isn't included in the Ghost 2003 compatible list on Symantecs website.

I have the same problem with my LG GCE-8160B 16x10x40x, Ghost comes up with an error when it tries to close the disk, I did create a small hard drive image that fit on one disk and the image worked fine.

I just bought a LG GCE-8523B 52x24x52x and it does not have this problem. I recently burned an image of my hard drive (17 disks on high compression) and it worked fine.

I have the 8160B installed in my older computer and will probably put a second hard drive in it to create my images and burn them after, but that doesn't solve the problem as to why this happens.

Good Luck
