What Happened to the KProbe Website?

Postby CDRecorder on Thu Aug 21, 2003 12:58 am

When I go to http://karr.myweb.hinet.net, there are no links for KProbe, Ltnflash, Minfo, or firmware updates. Did the KProbe web site change to another address?

I assume you have read this:

http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic. ... 6515#76515

He hasn't confirmed or denied, but my interpretation is that he have gotten into some trouble at work for making the utilities available. :( I hope not, first for his sake, and second for ours.

No, I hadn't seen that information. I really hope he isn't in trouble. :(

He is, unfortunately. I was asked to remove LtnFlash from my page. Hopefully KProbe isn't frowned upon by superiors...

I'm really sorry to hear that, both for Karr and for everyone else.

I'm also unhappy that you were asked to remove LtnFlash.

Damn. Must have been something to do with the RPC issues. What a shame.

I agree. I would rather that LtnFlash was released without the RPC feature than not have LtnFlash at all.

I believe that it was more of an issue with the Read/Write EEPROM feature...

I haven't followed the LtnFlash issue at all. What is/was so dangerous/problematic about the EEPROM flashing/reading that it caused the withdrawal of this feature?

Please enlighten me, I'm out of the loop.

thanks,

Lite-On forced Karr to shut down his website:
