How can I upgrade firmware of Samsung CD-ROM SC-152C.

How fast is too fast?

Dear CDRecorder,
I think it is compatible with mtkflash as the SC-152C_C300.zip file that I downloaded from Samsung had a .txt file a f1198l.exe and C300.hex.When I first tried flasing the drive through pure DOS I saw that the f1198l.exe is mtkflash 1.06.So I think the drive is compatible with mtkflash.
See ya soon,

Oh, I see. That is a strong indicator that the drive will work with MTKFlash. :)

Dear CDRecorder,
Hi.You are right when you say that the drive should work with MtkFlash or MtkWinFlash. But in reality it doesn't work.It just gives in some error(I have mentioned some in my posts above) and the drive is still with older firmware in it.
So I think I will stop trying to flash it and leave it as i continues to work, good or bad.
Do post something if you get some new idea.
See ya later,

Dear all,
I opened the CD-ROM yesterday and found that there is a MediaTek chip in there. The firmware chip is socketed and there is "SC-152C CS05"
printed in the firmware chip.I cleaned the drive using vaccuum cleaner and oiled the movement with some grade 40/40 oil.The drive is working OK.But I still cant understand why it is not allowing the firmware to be flashed to C300.
See ya later guys,
