My Aopen 48x12x50 drive was very good. I would compare it with the Lite-On 48125W (48x12x48)

I've acquired one 52x24x52x(Buslink-Aopen) less than 2 months ago, for a low price(US$19.99 after rebate)...
The drive performs fast DAE(8x/9x, using EAC in secure mode); but some little faults, make me feel unconfortable with it:
1.The drive generates too much vibration and noise.(reading/ripping audio)
(at first, I had a impression of a defective unit and exchanged it , but the second one had identical behaviour).
2.It doesnt allow me burning at 4x(audio).
Because of this, I still prefer use my other CDRW trusted drives: an old, but very reliable, LG 12/8/32 and second Buslink 52x24x52x (a rebagged Lite-On 522446s).
My Aopen-Buslink uses firmware 1.05, but since many people reported problems flashing it, I dont wanna take the risk.
(firmware 1.06 and later provides 4x burning and the feature for slowing down to 40x).

If you leave in USA, go and get yours.

Thanks for the link, fil! Actually, I ordered mine about two weeks ago from BestBuy (52327S and cd label kit for $10 after MIR), but if I hadn't, I'd definitely be taking advantage of the Circuit City deal. :D I'm still waiting for my drive to arrive (shipped out today) because the burner was on backorder for a couple of weeks after I ordered it. :(
