MY new LITEON 52x32x52 CDRW won't open!

yesterday I got my new CDRW.
at first it worked just fine, but today suddenly I can't open it,
no metter what I try.

what can I do/check in order to make sure that the problam is in the
burner itself, and not in my computer, or software ?

Does the light come on during boot? If not, re-seat the power cable.
