LVD-2001 subtitles problem

Postby Corto_73 on Wed Sep 03, 2003 4:25 pm

For now You can't load subtitles from external file like srt, txt, sub or some other. But, LiteOn is working on it, and the new version of firmware will support this future. The actual firmware is 0227 (according to their web-site). The upgrading of firmware is very simple. Just download the Nero image file, burn it on the CD, and put the CD in Your DVD-Player. After about 3 minutes of upgrading, shut down the DVD-Player, and the next time You start the player, it will have the new firmware. This simple upgrading is because of the Linux-powered software of LVD.

The only way to see subtitles from MPEG-4 file (for now) is to put them in the AVI-file with the film.

I'm waiting for mine LVD-2001 product to come....

Greetings from Croatia.... :P

Huh, I forgot something.... :D

If You are making Your own DivX/XviD files, there is some limitations that You must be aware... (the limitations are because of the EM8500 chip that is used in this product).

1.) EM8500 does NOT support GMC and quarter-pixel encoding!!!!!

2.) The maximum support resolution is 720x576 for DivX 4.xx, DivX 5.xx or XviD!!!!!

3.) The maximum support resolution is 352x288 for DivX 3.11 Alpha !!!

4.) There is some problems with playing the Low Motion DivX 3.11 Codec, because that is the software Codec... and these files are often unplayable!!!

5.) Always use the MP3 or AC3 encodid sound with DivX/XviD movies, because in that caise there is no problem with playing in LVD-2001 !!!!!

6.) If You don't beleive me, go to the site:

Bye
