How do I get my burner to accept a LiteOn firmware upgrade in Win XP?

Use FlashFix to flash the Lite-On firmware upgrade onto your Memorex drive.

Erm, if I'm not mistaken, 54/24/52 - Isn't that a Mitsumi drive?

Working fine

Postby dbreaux on Sat Sep 06, 2003 10:55 pm

Many months ago I was told at this forum that the Memorex 52/24/52 was a LiteOn rebadge...apparently so because the flashfix worked fine......well, there was an initial CTD at the initial reboot but all seems fine now. Files drag and drop with Roxio DragtoDisc and the burner even shows up as a LiteOn in Device Manager. Thanks for the help!!!

Well, if the flash succeeded and the drive appears as a Lite-On, the drive certainly is a Lite-On. I'm glad that FlashFix worked for you! :D

BTW, what is a CTD?

CTD

Crash to desktop.....which is not quite accurate for Win XP.....just got one of those blue screens with the typical scribbly scrabbly error message jargon. CTD is common verbage for Win 9x and earlier versions. Thanks again for the fix!

You're welcome. :D

That's strange that Windows crashed the first time; I'm glad that this didn't continue happening, though! :)
