Has anyone else run into these discs?

          Lead Out = 79:59:73

They are branded 24x TDK CD-Rs, and my Plextor Premium burns them at 32x max with Power Record enabled.

I never knew that Taiyo Yuden made CD-Rs for TDK before!

Sure TDK uses TY, only in older spindles, from what I have seen. Several of their spindles had the screw cap which was the mark of TY. Memorex too, they used TY in some of their older spindles.

I will second that. I have spindles of 32x TDK and Memorex discs made by TY that I bought on closeout a while back. I haven't seen any TY-made TDK or Memorex discs lately, though. And it looks like Fuji is going the same route... :(

I have heard of these TY TDK discs, too, but I've never actually seen them. I do have some 40x Memorex discs that are made by TY, though.

I agree that it's unfortunate that all of these companies are going the route of selling discs made by manufacturers other than TY, now. :(

I bought several 50 packs of 32X TDK's and Memorex 32X and 40x made by TY last year. I saw them at many stores during the summer of 2002 with great rebates. Both brands came in the cakebox with the spin-on top and opaque printed shrinkwrap instead of the usual shrinkwrapped paper band. The quality was the same as Fuji - excellent.

I guess TY only had short term deals to make CD-R's for both companies - by the fall both went back to using CMC and Ritek for thier main manufacturers. A shame because they were the best quality CD-R's both companies have put on the shelves in years.

Yes, I think my 40x Memorex discs (100-spindle, not two 50-spindles) had the opaque shrinkwrap, too. They don't have the spin-on top, though; the container looks like a taller version of the one that Fuji TY discs come in now.
