How to create continuous audio tracks?

Postby KrazyIvan on Sat Nov 01, 2003 11:19 am

I want to burn an audio CD that has no silence between the tracks, a mix cd if you will. How can I do this? I always end up with a silence between the tracks that is anoying with the style of music I am trying to burn. I tried the search but could not narrow down the search well enough to give me a reasonalble amount of threads to wade through. :o

Use CDex ->Record Partial Track->set Stop Position as the last track, this will make one long WAV from your CD.If the audio files are on your HDD then in your burning software preferences set audio pre-gap to 0 seconds, this will give you separate tracks with no 2 second silence between them.

Also remember to use DAO and not TAO when doing this.

I am using Easy Cd Creator right now, but will be switching to Nero Burn 5.5 when my new burner arrives. WOuld that be the merge tracks option for CD Creator? If it is, my super limited version has that option greyed out. :x

I dont use roxio software so I don't know. With nero there's an option that is set by the default to 2 seconds. It says "Pause" I think, just change this to 0 for all the tracks exept the first one.

In Roxio 5.3, select one or more tracks, right-click on them, and click "Transition effects". The options in there are what you are looking for, I think.

in Nero, in the Audio compilation window, right click the track -> Properties, in the Pause entry enter the length of pause you want (or 0).
you can highlight all tracks and do the same it sets the same pause for all inter-track gaps at once! :)

Thanks everyone! I found the transition effects option in Roxio, it is not available in the version I have (grayed out). I will have to try the Nero option when it arrives. Thanks again.

Try using the Nero Wave Editor software that comes with Nero. It is a really good program for audio editing!
