New firmware 1.05 for Plextor Premium

Premium V1.05 (14 November 2003)
Improvements:
Support for newer High Speed CD-RW media
Support for newer Ultra Speed CD-RW media.
Write performance on Ultra Speed CD-RW media.

Anyone notice any differences yet as far as actually using it goes? I think I'll wait until I here from some people. Any write quality, speed changes or anything like that with CD-R's?

When I get home I'll try out my InfoDisc 24x CD-RW (Melody Branded) and see how it compares. Now THAT will be a true test! :D
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R

so far great burns, which means hasn't changed from 1.04

Nope, it still can't burn the Infodisc 24x CD-RWs.... I can put some scans up if you like, but they are pretty similar. The new firmware showed slightly higher C1 errors, and slightly lower C2 errors. The newer firmware also had higher maximum values for both C1 and C2.... but that could easily be from regular fluctuations.

Did you reburn the same disc or did you take a new one from the same batch.
If it was reburn then did you use exactly the same image to avoid cascading effect which are hard conditions for OPC.

Since the european magazines have got there media for tests I think we're close to a release.

It was the same disc re-burned, and it was the exact same image. Both burns were done at 24x (the only speed the Plextor Premium allows).
