Painting Components (i.e. The Monitor)

Postby BurnJunky on Thu Nov 20, 2003 4:35 am

Has anyone ever painted their computer monitor shell? I wanna change two of my monitors to black or something else because I'm tired of the tan white look. I would by new black monitors, but I can't even afford one let alone two. Is this possible? Is it safe to take them apart to paint them? :)

If you want to paint your monitor then I would suggest using vinyl dye which will work much better than paint.

One word of warning tho, I would strongly reccommend you do not remove the monitor casing, the amps/voltages inside are enough to kill you instantly if you don't know what your doing so your better off masking all areas that don't require spraying !

Here is a guide for using Vinyl Dye

The information you guys have provided is very useful. I think I might try the vinyl dye idea. Where do you get that stuff anyways? An auto parts store or something? Thanks. :)
