Hope you recover completely and rapidly! That must have been one heck of a kiss to cause a collapsed lung. :D

MonteLDS:
I also had a pneumothorax when I was 16 or 17.

Yes, you can get them by being tall & skinny. Smoking (anything) doesn't help.

Neither did the bottle tokes & hot knives I was doing at the time.

Oddly enough, mine never really hurt, it just gurgled when I took a deep breath. I even flew to Europe for 10 days with it.

I didn't heed the doctor's advice and it occurred again.

He gave me a great detailed explanation of how they cut open your chest and get rib spreaders to make room to work so they can cut out part of the lung...

I quit smoking everything, right then and there!
I'm old, this was 20 years ago now!

Ale is cheaper than hash anyway.

I was lucky. I never had to go under the knife. But it was close.

I was at home, feet up on the couch for 2 weeks watching tv & reading.
My parents felt so bad, they even went out at bought a VCR (about $600 back then) so I could watch movies.

My sister has the VCR and its still running fine!

That business about collapsing lungs and physique is total nonsense. I'm 6 feet and 145 pounds a never had a collapsed lung.

Now, Monte, about Jennifer, I'm afraid that I have to concur with Ian and the others. Let me cast it with an analogy. Genevieve drinks one Pepsi a day and has never tried Coke. A friend gives her a twelve pack of Coke and asks her to try one. She tries one and says that it is good, but not as good as Pepsi. The friend suggests that she continue to try the Coke, one per day, until the twelve pack is done and then see what she thinks. Now, after twelve Cokes (assuming 12 to be a sufficient amount for a true test), their are only two possible outcomes:
1. She now likes Coke better and, most likely, always will, or
2. She will always prefer Pepsi.
