Liteon 40125S Problem

Postby seaegg on Thu Nov 27, 2003 11:29 am

I recently burned some CDs that were supposed to have on 12 songs but when I played it back it only plays the first 4 songs. I took the burner out and bought a 52x Liteon which is working ok. Has anyone else had this problem? Is my burner more or less dead or was it the media. I can't remember the FW but I also remember getting some medium errors with Feurio and CloneCD using Fuji and Sony media. I was thinking about installing the burner in my wife's computer to see if it would once again work properly. The thing is it would burn some CDs fine and then I'd burn another one and only the first 4 tracks would play back. Any ideas?

what was the burner? sounds like it was probably the source of the problem since fuji/TY media was giving you errors as well!

It was a Liteon 40125S. I just put it in a USB 2.0 enclosure and erased a CDRW with it so I'm hoping it may not be dead after all. I'm going to put it in my wife's computer and hope all goes well. I hate to throw stuff away sice I've never had a component in any of my systems completely die to the point where they were unrecoverable. By the way if you know anyone that has a Liteon LTD-163 that has stopped reading CDs and DVDs, Liteon sent me a firmware that has never been posted that resurrected my buddy's DVD-Rom. It's now working like a charm. I thought it was dead for sure.
