Sound delay in DVD Playback via S-Video

Postby TrueCanuck on Wed Nov 26, 2003 6:09 pm

Sound delay during DVD playback on my PC.

I'm running the video out to my TV from my PC via the S-Video output on my video card, and I'm noticing a delay between the video and the sound on playback. There is no delay if I simply watch the DVD on my computer monitor.

Currently, I'm running the sound out of my PC speakers. At first, I wondered if outputting the sound into the audio input of my TV might fix the problem. However, the sound delay seems to be limited to DVD playback and I don't seem to notice any similar issues when viewing streaming video online.

The PC is a Sony VAIO Pentium 4, running Windows XP and I'm using PowerDVD for playback.

Any suggests for mitigating this problem would be appreciated. :(

Just to understand correctly, you still notice a sound lag when you input the sound into the TV (bypassing the PC speakers and going directly from the Audio Out of the sound card to the Audio In of the TV)?
No, I like women.
