Detect C1 and C2 Errors

Postby ccb056 on Sun Dec 14, 2003 2:38 pm

What are the differences between C1 and C2 errors?

Are there any other errors that can be on a disc?

Are these errors also present in dvds?

What program can I use to detect these errors?

What is the average number of these errors per disc?

Use CDSpeed or K-Probe(if you have a Lite-On):
www.cdspeed2000.com -NeroCDSpeed.zip
http://upload.cdfreaks.com/Kprobe/ -kpsetup.exe or kprobe.zip
Read this thread for C1 info: www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=14011&highlight=
DVD's use "Tilt Analysis" which checks PI/P0,go to www.cdrinfo.com and read one of the DVD writer reviews that can explain it better than me.

BTW..your drives must support reporting C1 errors,most CD writers do but few DVD writers do.

Umm, no. Most CD writers do not support C1 error reporting.... only LiteON and some Sanyo, and the Plextor Premium do (to my knowledge).
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R
