Ya, these are pretty good prices.
The local 'great deal' store here has a Mitsumi 52x24x52x burner, silver face for $70. At Best Buy in town today, I got an Pine external burner, same drive inside for $90 after MIR. The case alone is $90 from the other joint.
So, ya, gotta keep the eyes open for things.
While some things in the USA are cheaper, the shipping often kills any savings. Like, if I buy a widget for $30 USD, shipping that ONE item might be $30. Convert to canadian, pay some taxes if any.. Up to $90 CDN already. Well, I can go to a local store and get it for that price + tax, and if it's busted or whatever, I don't have the nightmare of RMA and those things.
That is IF they ship to Canada. A few places I've look at have amazing great prices, but won't ship up here. Prices so good even the shipping makes it still a great deal.
I remember back in the old days. a 3 1/4" disc cost $1.49 at Future Shop 15 years ago.
