Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs on Ebay? Please Help!!!

Postby Lsportline43 on Wed Jan 07, 2004 6:04 am

There is a company named PMG, Inc. selling Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs on Ebay. They sell these Black Design Taiyo Yudens and claim to be the only ones to get these from Taiyo Yuden! I already bought these discs and would like to know if anyone knows if these are real? You could look them up on their Ebay store PMGDisc. Then search for Taiyo Yuden. Thank You.

They might be custom made Black Ceram coated TY disc's. They might have made a deal with TY japan to let these disc's be manufactured for them.
However can't be seen very good so I cannot see if it's frosted
And The 52x recommendation is not TY style(48x is)

So I have some doubts. Keep in mind that it's just a nice black ceramic upper layer and not black bottom disc's. However I do lover ceramic coatings. Specially on TY disc's. (Still thinking that the old Ceramic Coated TY disc's are at least just as good if not better as Kodak Ultima gold or Mitsui gold (old quality )/ Mitsui Medical )

So it is possible that these are real. Hopefully they are. Thanks for the help. Any other input would be useful too. Thanks.

Yeah it is possible.
However I would try to get the allover ceramic coated disc's since these ones have some non ceramic spots. Which will be more open for problems.
That's sells still white full ceramic coated disc's.

I'm not sure this is really the place to be posting this sort of info... but if you are going to do it, could you at least let us know what part of the world you are in? I mean, I assume the U.S. but that still leaves a lot of potential states, and various shipping costs.

Does Taiyo Yuden themselves make any discs with their own logo and emblems? I have never seen this. I only see them making discs for others.

I emailed PMG, Inc. (Seller of these limited edition Taiyo Yudens) and they replied. They said that the CD-Rs are orginally Taiyo Yudens, but they have their custom design on them. So that means that they must of designed them because someone said that Taiyo Yuden doesn't recommend using 52x. And it says 700 MB/52x on the disc. Oh well it's not like I have a 52x burner anyways. Thanks for the help guys. Also I'll tell you guys what's up when I get the discs. Thanks again.
