Recode 2 and a "Red" vertical line during analyzin

Postby NoSmartz on Wed Jan 14, 2004 8:38 pm

I analyzed a flick a day or 2 ago with Recode 2 and a "red" vertical line appeared in the graph while pre-analyzing of the movie.I ran a dvd error test on the flick and it showed that there was a read error on the movie(no scratches).I thought,OK,no problem.Today I threw in one and the same "red" line appeared so I ran another error test and it showed no errors on the disc at all. What is this "red" line?I screen printed it if anyone needs a visual.(I have no web space!!)

The little graph Recode2 displays is showing how much the source video is compressed. I'm guessing the red lines simply mean that block can't be compressed futher.

Don't worry; it's not a read error!
