It seems you can post in the new Forums as a Guest.

There was one I guest Ian or one of the other admins fixed it. I do have a screen shot to prove it.

Yeah, I forgot to change the permissions. No guest posters! People tend to be naughty and rude when they're guests.

I swear that guest wasn't me.

I finally got around to merging some of software sections. Anything else?

Move video editing and dvd copying to software?

great about the new Other CD/DVD Burning Software forum.

as for moving the DVD Authoring and Video Editing forums, i've already voiced my opinion here earlier:

my favorite suggestion:
dodecahedron wrote:a new section, maybe called Tools or some such.

the Software section of the forums would be dedicated to Software/Vendor specific forums (Ahead, Roxio, Sonic etc.)
the Tools section would be for software related themes, such as DVD Authoring and Video Editing. maybe also Media testing like some have suggested (for KProbe & the like).

this doesn't seem to have picked up, i guess other people don't think this is a good idea.

second best:
dodecahedron wrote:i think the new DVD Authoring and Video Editing forums should be in the Software section of the forums rather than the Other section.

as i recall, some people agreed with this and some didn't, there was no clear concensus.

Maybe a section called "HowTo"?

I just noticed the new layout this morning. Nice! I'm glad you implemented the "Other CD/DVD Burning Software" forum.

I don't have strong opinions either way, but they do seem to fit there better than together with the Hot Deals, Rants & Raves, Feedback etc.

Now that may be an interesting idea- but for 2 fora? Maybe a new HowTo forum - although the FAQ section could cover that too.

what's wrong with a HowTo forum with just 2 fora? it's fine, and you can put the FAQ there as well so it's 3!
