Nero incompatible with Alcohol 120% when reading ATIP??

Postby grouch on Fri Jan 23, 2004 8:37 pm

Hey,
I have Nero 6.3.0.2, and Nero CD-DVD Speed Version 2.11.4
Before, I used to be able to get the CD info by going into:
CD-DVD Speed > Extra > Disc Info...
and it would show info such as:
Manufacturer: Ritek
Code: 97m15s17f
Disc Type: CD-R
Usage: General
Recording Layer: Dye Type 7: Short Strategy (Phthalocyanine)
Recording Speed: 52
Capacity: 79:59.70 703 MB
Overburn Capacity: 81:44.71 (718 MB)

After I installed Alcohol 120%, whenever I do the above procedure, it doesn't display anything. So I un-installed Nero and re-installed, thinking that Alcohol 120% might have taken some priority over Nero, but Nero still doesn't read. On the other hand, Alcohol 120% does read the ATIP info.
So is there a sharing violation between Nero and Alcohol 120% when reading ATIP info??

Alcohol 120% has some sort of "hide media code" feature.
if that is active, it will prevent any prog like CDSpeed from reading the ATIP info.
make sure this feature in Alcohol 120% is disabled.
