i got a pioneer 106d 4x burner like one year ago. right when it got here, i patched it with the "v1.07 rpc1-12xrip" firmware from rpc1.org.
the drive rules. most of the burns i do are perfectly readable, and it's great to rip stuff too.
only problem is, every now and then i have a goddamn "power calibration error" in nero.. and it's beginning to happen far too often.
it ALWAYS happens in the beginning of the burning process - if it reaches 2%, then it'll burn right till the end 100% of the times. i always burn at 4x with ritek or ridata-branded ritek 4x media, and i'm using one of the very latest nero versions (it happened with previous versions too)...
what could be causing this, can anyone please help? cache'ing of files, perhaps? the hugest problem is, sometimes, the power calibration error actually occurs right after burning begins, so it renders my dvd-r unusuable...
