PROBLEM with ASUS 48 16 48

From can I enable the PIO mode for the firmware to upgrade process!
And which program is more suitable to burn cds

the cds that I ve got are infiniti 48 speed 730mb but the nero recognised them as 16 speed so i am upgrading the firmware
