Most PS2 games now are on CDs, with only a few being on DVD-and in a few cases, they're only on DVD for speed (PS2 can read DVD faster than CD). Until games start to get much larger, they game companies won't need the extra space. And since DVD drives are much cheaper and can go to 9.4GB (dual layer)...
